Can you remember how many times you get enticing offers for credit cards form different financial organizations including banks? I hope, you might have received innumerable calls that you couldn’t even count it. And many times you might have accepted these offers. These credit card companies traps the young with their lucrative offers like free balance transfers, no payments for 90 days, 0% introductory offers and it also gives you free gifts if you accepted and signed up.

Awesome story that hits close to home. I've got plenty of student loans to pay off! Great analogy and better inspiration to keep me truckin'.

Wow!! Your story is so motivating! I must admit I am quite envious of you new position...you see, I have just started my debt free adventure (actually the name of my new blog on the subject) and am also MAD at my debt.

I too long for the freedom of being debt free, and I mean completely debt free...no mortgage or anything. I wanted to personally thank you for your efforts and for posting about them here...your experience is a blessing to me.

Stop adding debt is probably the most important step, followed by not trying the to do too much, nothing kills the budget more than trying to juggle 10 things at once. For us it was buying a place, renovating, buying a car and going home, all with no savings in the bank. I shutter to think about how we survived

What an inspiration! I love the comparison to baking... and being debt free (or nearly) is the sweetest! Thanks for a great post.
