Keep your data points in one place and always updated. Sometimes, it’s really difficult to remember all the good work that we have done; and without that, it’s difficult to sell ourselves in times of need. This works like wonders during appraisal/review time. And would help whenever we need to distinguish ourselves or highlight our positives.

And you will find it. Statistics bear out that people rarely stay in min wage jobs for very long. Keep working and making a difference and you’ll rise to the top. You seem to have a great attitude and that is the one thing you can control for certain. You won’t find ANY truly successful people with a sorry attitude, so you are already on your way.

Keeping up a great attitude is definitely key, but can be incredibly difficult sometimes.

With the economy the way it is, I have no fear. I have no fear, because I am working a minimum wage job right now and you can’t go much lower than that! That is my whole philosophy.

Just kidding, I am trying to find something better.

“6. Learn to be a switch hitter.” Great advice! I left computer sciences in school to join an information systems program offered by the business school because I wanted to have business experience on top of programming. My first job out of school led me to managing a group of programmers who had been there much longer, but had zero business/leadership experience. I was glad that I had chosen a more diversified path.

Do you know what, having a great attitude is the best advice in all work environments. Enthusiasm is the key whether you are a street sweeper on Prime Minister. The biggest problem in my life is that I only need one little knock to keep me down for the rest of the day! Hence I’m leaving blog comments when I should be selling!
