Thanks, I’m glad to link to you because I really enjoy reading your blog. The post of yours that I referenced was particularly well written and timely in my opinion.

And I think you’re right, many of our skills to cope DO come from our social upbringing and the conventions we’re taught growing up.

The research that went into this article was based on being both the boss AND the employee!

Great article, and very well researched. Dealing with troublesome coworkers is definitely something I didn’t learn in college. The skills to cope come from our social upbringing and problem solving. But it’s always a challenge.

Neat ideas. I’ve always viewed my boss as under a lot more stress than me, but I’ve never considered him as being in less control of his career because of those under him.
