@ glblguy
You're welcome. Thanks for commenting!

I agree, "goal" has a much stronger feel to it. "Resolution" has lost its meaning since, as you say, no one does those anyway!

Thank you Ron for your kind comments, really appreciate that.

@LP - I'm with you, I don't like the word "resolution" either, I prefer goals. A goal to be has far more accountability. When I fail to meet a resolution I think "Well, it's ok...nobody else really does them either", but when I fail to meet a goal, I kick myself much harder.

Good discussion and article, thanks Ron for the great conversation!

Thanks glblguy, I DO consider you a A-list blog! You have great content, a fantastic looking blog, and an approach to life that is achievable. I check your site often, well, daily actually. I remember another Proverb "There is wisdom in many counselors" and I see you as one of my many.

Thanks again to you LP! Your comments are always enjoyed and welcomed. You're right, the New Year is a perfect time to start, but then again, when it comes to personal development, anytime is a good time to start!

Calling it "resolutions" is not what I want to call it. :-)
Maybe "getting back to basics" or "tightening the belt", or "getting on track", or "practicing self control" or "keeping in check".......ect
I suppose the word itself is instilled to be the right one.

But we, personally, had difficulty making and then keeping resolutions. Because when we did make them, they 99 & 9/10% flopped. Then I felt guilty.
I don't like that feeling or that thought process.
And then, I was ashamed when I had to say, I messed up.

But, the New Year is a perfect time to start!
And striving for betterment in our own personal lives, our finances and relationships are what makes us who we are.

Setting out to change ourselves and the world is a daunting task. But achievable, to a degree.
At least when we see some evidence that we are making progress.

All I can think is "CHARGE AHEAD"!!!!! (not the credit card kind) ;-)

Hallelujah for progress!!!

Wow, honor to be included with so many other A-list blogs! It's so easy to fall back to the habits we're familiar with as well, even though they are bad.

Nice blog you have going, keep it up!
