We found out this week that my youngest daughter has Crohn’s disease ^[2], an autoimmune condition that can affect any part of the gastrointestinal tract, but seems more prevalent in the small intestine. She’s been in the hospital at Le Bohneur Children’s Hospital in Memphis undergoing diagnosis and treatment. It is a manageable condition and we’re planning on making her life as normal as possible and we’re beginning to do personal research through the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America ^[3]. Since about 500,000 people in North America have this condition, chances are, you know someone with it.
