Here in the Midsouth, we’re a little winter weather weary. Having just gone through the worst ice storm in decades and going without electricity for TEN days, the sight of snow and ice on the Weather Channel radar is, well, disgusting. It was 70 degrees just two days ago … oh well, that’s weather for you.

Here’s a couple of great posts to read while I pray the electrical grid holds:

JLP at All Financial Matters gives us a glimpse of the household chores his kids perform on a daily basis. Isn’t structure grand? I love it!

In NO! I don’t want your freakin’ extended warranty Pinyo lets Hillside Honda have it! Trust me, extended warranties are a car dealership’s cash cow. Don’t MOO for them!

Pete at Bible Money Matters reminds us to worry only about the things you can change. Yes, far too often the things we worry about never happen anyway.

Ever blame “the situation” when you know it was your own fault? Yeah, me too. Check out Sid’s post for the 5 steps you need to take to overcome “the situation.”

Lise at Frugal Fruitlands asked should you break up with Suze Orman? Lise and I see eye to eye on this one!

Wondering what to do with your “personal stimulus” from the President? Patrick at Cash Money Life suggests saving it. Great advice.

If you were wondering exactly how rough the economy has become, General Electric cut its dividend for the first time in 71 years.

Are diamonds a girl’s best friend? Maybe, especially if you’re in a cash crunch! If that’s the case, they’re a guy’s best friend as well!

Wondering how to effectively prioritize your expenses in a down economy? Check out what’s going on at Green Panda Treehouse for some great tips.

Looking for some cheap dinner ideas? Check out SVB over at The Digerati Life for recommendations on how to dine for $10 or less!

Ryan over at Uncommon Cents wonders what’s the deal with customer service these days. You’d think companies and their employees would be interested in cultivating every customer they could, but it doesn’t always appear that way.

Have the rules changed? Nickel has a reader who wonders if we can count on the stock market returning to normal … ever. We should but there’s no real way of knowing if we’ve entered a new paradigm of risk and volatility.

Enjoy the links. I’m going to watch my son snowboard down the hill!
