Roundup and Link Love: Owen Church Battles Leukemia Edition

by Ron

owen We found out this week that 4 year old Owen Church has leukemia. He is the oldest son of some friends of ours. Owen has two older sisters and one younger brother and he is simply a joy to be around. He loves my kids, as do his siblings and parents and we’re  praying for them all.

He is in St Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and will probably be there for a while as he gets the treatment he needs. If you feel it in your heart, please consider making a donation to St. Jude’s and be sure and check out Owen’s Caring Bridge site. You can keep up with how his treatment is going and how he and his precious family are coping.

He has years of chemotherapy (which started today) ahead of him. You can only imagine what he and his parents are going through.

After you check out Owen’s site and after you make that donation, here are some other links to take a look at:

I know what it’s like to have leukemia; even though I’m 54 yrs old, I had leukemia and cancer 3 1/2 years ago. I too had A.L.L. Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia. It strikes young kids and adults over 50. With my stage 4, I almost died but with my faith and help with chemo, I’m alive today. Remission free for 3 1/2 yrs Mothers Day weekend. My prayers goes out to him and his family.
