Good post. You make some great points that most people do not fully understand.

"A few mis-informed people still look at an online classes as somehow inferior to traditional grounded classes. My reply is, “Welcome to the 21st Century.” Many, many traditional classes now have their coursework delivered through an online format. After all, most people don’t attend class anyway! Most tests are online. Lectures are available through DVD or, again online. The times, they are a changing."

I like how you explained that. Very helpful. Thanks.

[...] I was ignorant on how to resist the marketing efforts of retailers and manufacturers. In college, I was the first to sign up to get a credit card just for the “free” T-shirt. I had been programmed by the marketing media to constantly think I needed to have to have the latest and greatest gizmo, gadget, or toy. I was told, and subsequently believed, that student loans were my only option to get me through school. You can read about my college experience here. [...]

@ Mark
I don't know much about UofP but if it fits your budget, lifestyle, and goals, go for it!

@LP
Thanks for commenting. Personal responsibility is something that is rarely taught today and almost NEVER demonstrated.

Lots of good advice here, and funny too. I once helped in a shaved ice establishment, many, many years ago, with a nice young man, who was very helpful in many areas of my own life. Very encouraging.

I appreciate your emphasis on personal responsibility.
We all could do well with more self improvement.
Because you can never be too old to better yourself.
The actual benefit is a sense of well-being.
And that, also contributes to being a good dose of confidence. Which then leads you to worlds you may never have had the pleasure of visiting...or owning.....

Ron, you're right...great minds do think alike! So what if we went to rival schools, we're obvious on the same wavelength now. You've presented some excellent thoughts on the subject of finishing up your education.

Mark B: I've heard good things about U. of Phoenix, but they are expensive. I worked with a guy who was working on an MBA through U. of Phoenix and he seemed to be having a good experience.
