Another point might be, "Don't win the money game while losing the happiness game." I suppose it could come under your "lose the fun game," but to expand upon it, I see some who Scrooge around and miss out on the fun of giving to the less fortunate and worthy causes. Studies I read find that once you get above the poverty level, that making $10,000 more dollars doesn't do much for human happiness.
