We Have A Winner – The Path Of Least Resistance Edition

by Ron on July 31, 2008

The winner of my book drawing is Yufeng Guo! Congratulations and I hope you enjoy your new book. If you will email your mailing address to me, I will send your new book to you as soon as possible this week.

The Wisdom Journal passed 1,000 subscribers yesterday (July 30). Thank you sincerely to everyone who has subscribed. I consider it an honor that you take a moment or two out of your day to read what I’ve written and posted. Thank you.

My next book giveaway is WordPress For Dummies (For Dummies (Computer/Tech)). This book helped me get my blog set up and is full of ideas, tips, and techniques to help anyone set up a WordPress blog. To be entered in the drawing once, just leave a comment on this post. To get FIVE entries, email the new FREE BOOK CODE from the bottom of my RSS feed to thewisdomjournal [at] gmail [dot] com.

If you do plan to set up your own blog, I would appreciate it if you would use one of these companies as your web host. It doesn’t cost you any more to use one of these links.

Bluehost.com Web Hosting $6.95
Blue Host. This is the company I use myself and I’ve had a great experience with them. They are available 24/7 and I’ve never waited more than a few minutes to speak with anyone in technical support. They have been a great host. You can add unlimited domains (if you want more than one blog or site) and hosting with them costs as low as $6.95 per month! I have several other online ventures I’m considering and it’s nice to know that I can host them all on my current account. Additionally, they have a one click install of WordPress as well as several other programs through Fantastico Deluxe. Use it. It works like a dream.

Lunarpages answers the phone when you call them!
Lunar Pages. I almost went with them and to be honest, I’m not sure why I didn’t. Their hosting plans also start out at $6.95 and they offer 1500 GB Storage Space, 15,000 GB Bandwidth, free website templates, domain name for life, and special offers if you’re interested in transferring an existing account. Like Blue Host, Lunar Pages also offers unlimited domains on one account. I have some friends using Lunar Pages and they report fantastic results.

Host Gator (for all you University of Florida fans!). Host Gator doesn’t require customers to sign up for anything longer than a month plus they have no setup fees. If you’re wanting to get your feet wet (pun intended) you can use their “Hatchling,” “Baby,” or “Swamp” plans. They have a lot of different options so I haven’t included any pricing here to avoid any confusion. Host Gator is a very reliable web host that many online friends use with great success.

I’d love to read the book. I’ve got a new blog and can use all the help I can get!

Would love to win this; I use WordPress but my brother does all the work on it for me!

I’ll vouch for LunarPages. I’ve been very happy with them, especially for the price I pay. (they currently have a deal going on for $5/mo if you sign up for 2 years in advance). Great deal.
