Weekend Roundup

You know, the great thing about blogging, reading blogs, and linking to other blogs is that in some strange way, you get to know the writers. You read about their experiences, their ideas, their hopes, their dreams, and what they feel is important. I hope readers feel the same way about this blog once I have established a good rhythm and a good feel for what people are interested in. Here are some really great, interesting, and fun articles to read over the weekend.

The Digerati Life has a well written and very well thought out plan to get rid of debt.

JD at Get Rich Slowly warms us up with a recipe for Hearty Baked Potato Soup. I think we should make this soup for supper tonight!

Trent at The Simple Dollar says his favorite bargain is the free newspaper.

Patrick at Cash Money Life asks, “What Temperature Do You Set Your Thermostat?” Obviously some people can tolerate the cold weather a bit better than me.

The Frugal Dad asks, “How Much Free Money Would You Stop to Pick Up?” Sounds like something a Dad would ask.

The Financial Hack has 25 Ways to Improve Your Career Today. Long post, but worth it.

Want to try your hand at blogging? Glblguy at Gather Little by Little is looking for guest bloggers!

Web Entrepreneur Yaro Starak shows How to Start a Business on a Budget.

Ever been interested in taking surveys for profit? Check out I’ve Paid For This Twice Already.

Five Cent Nickel asks readers, “What’s Your Favorite Online Bank?” With 51 comments (as of this writing) you’re sure to get some wise advice.

My Budget 360 wrote a fantastic article on Believing in Yourself to Achieve the Impossible. My favorite part: “Wealth is simply a vehicle to magnify your deeper personality traits. If you are a good person, access to resources will only make you a better one. If your nature is negative, it will also magnify your unhealthy attributes on the downside.” Great advice.

What should you do with all those plastic bags? Wise Bread has some unique suggestions.

Have a great weekend.

(sigh) Wouldn’t I love to be in Colorado, heading to the ski resorts!

Thanks for the mention. Wow, what a view in Colorado. Those folks sure have the rest of us beat on scenery!

Dig the new site Ron! There are so many good blogs out there that it is hard to find the time to read them all! I usually just put them into Google Reader and go from there since it is too hard going to 20 different sites trying to keep up.

Great picture and enjoy your weekend!

    @ Frugal Dad
Thanks for commenting! Yes, that view is awesome. I took that picture in 2005 at an exit off I-70 while on the way to Winter Park.

Thanks for the compliments on the site! I think a 4 column theme was too busy. This theme allows me to more personalization I think. I also use Google as my homepage and it does make things easier.

It probably won’t be my last upgrade :) I really like some of those personally designed themes from Nate Whitehill who has a business called Unique Blog Designs. Once this blog has a few more subscribers, I’ll probably be giving him a call to design one for me. He does some really great work. < /dreaming off >
